IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a compassionate, parts based approach to therapy that helps us better understand the different “parts” of ourselves that develop throughout life. These parts often form in response to painful experiences, relationships, stress, or unmet needs and may show up as anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, inner criticism, emotional overwhelm, avoidance, or protective coping patterns.

IFS works from the understanding that all parts of us have a purpose, even the ones that may feel frustrating or difficult. Rather than judging or trying to get rid of these parts, therapy focuses on building curiosity, compassion, and understanding toward them.

During IFS work, we explore the different parts of yourself while strengthening connection to your core Self — the grounded, compassionate, authentic part of you that exists underneath fear, shame, or survival patterns. Many people find that IFS helps them feel more internally connected, emotionally regulated, self compassionate, and at peace within themselves over time.
