About Ailie
Hello! I’m Ailie
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Hi! My name is Ailie (pronounced like Haley without the H). I am a licensed clinical social worker with 5 and a half years working at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital before entering private practice in 2021. I have extensive experience treating a wide variety of symptoms and problems with the use of multiple therapeutic modalities.
Having specialized in crisis care, I am ready to help sort through whatever life is throwing at you. In therapy I will recognize the human in you and create a safe space to be witnessed exactly as you are. I can meet you where you’re at and get you to the place where you deserve to be. I am currently providing telehealth therapy to older teens, adults and seniors. I can’t wait to be your teammate!
A little about me: Outside of therapy, I love traveling, being in nature, spending time with the people I love, a cup of coffee (with whipped cream probably) and a good Netflix binge. I also deeply value my own personal growth and healing work, which helps me show up authentically and compassionately for the people I work with.
My Mission & Values
I created Being You Counseling from the belief that who you are at your core is already enough. Many of us move through life carrying pain, trauma, conditioning, criticism, or experiences that slowly disconnect us from our inherent worth. Over time, we can begin to believe we need to perform, shrink ourselves, or become someone different in order to be loved, accepted, or safe.
My approach to therapy is centered around helping you reconnect with yourself underneath those layers. I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore our experiences with compassion, curiosity, and honesty rather than shame.
Together, we work to better understand patterns, regulate the nervous system, process difficult experiences, and build a more authentic and connected relationship with yourself. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with the version of you that has always been there.
Because being you is enough. And beneath all the noise, expectations, and wounds life places upon us, there is a deeper wisdom within you that already knows the way back home. My hope is to create a space where you can slow down, breathe, and gently return to yourself with greater peace, clarity, and self-trust.

Older Teens
Navigating the stages of claiming independence, developing healthy friendships, making good choices and being comfortable in your own changing skin is a lot to handle at once. With social media intensifying all the normal complexities of growing up, finding a safe place to talk can help you as you begin to conquer your increasingly complex lives.
Adults
Adults are balancing a lot of stressors. Whether you are a new adult navigating the art of “adulting” for the first time or a rather experienced adult who still feels like adulting is an overwhelming experience, counseling provides a safe place to unpack and process. Just because you are an adult doesn’t mean that you have it all together. There’s a lot that we can process together.
Older Adults
Just like every stage of life, getting older has both beauty and challenges. Aging can come with new limitations, pain, illnesses or ailments and losses that can lead to difficult emotions, such as frustration, anger, sadness and loneliness. Therapy offers tools to help you continue or to regain your quality of life while living alongside your changing life challenges.
